Brinch Hansen, 1981

Distributed language based on Concurrent Pascal designed to explore the programming concept of synchronous communication. Joyce had three ad hoc restrictions (Brinch Hansen 1993):
  • A process cannot access global variable
  • A message cannot include a channel reference
  • Two processes cannot communicate by polling the same channel(s).

He concludes that only ythe first restriction weas neccesary
